When is the best time of the day to take?
The best time to take will ultimately depends on your personal goals and needs. For example an athlete may choose to take before exercise to assist with performance or during exercise to support endurance. Similarly you may choose to take to accelerate recovery in which case immediately after intense activity or before bed might work best. Others using as a form of natural energy or to support general hydration tend to use at various points throughout the day. So it really does come down to the individual.
Who is Revival made for
Revival is the original multi-functional hydration which means that our drinks have a number of use cases and benefits. Our customers use our products in a number of ways. We have a strong following amount athletes, with a particular focus on endurance sports enthusiasts who take our drinks both before and during exercise to support performance and also after to accelerate recovery.
As well as providing a physical edge are powders can be used to promote mental performance, and we have people using for focus concentration and as a source of natural energy. In recent years we have seen many people make the switch from energy drinks and coffee with fantastic results. We also see strong usage among those with an active lifestyle looking for a recovery supplement.
Finally we have a strong contingent of customers using for overall wellness and hydration. With a staggering 75% of the population being dehydrated and with many of us struggling to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day the need for a hydration supplement has never been more important.
Revival vs Electrolyte Tablets
Disrupting an industry...
Hydration tablets, electrolyte pills and other rehydration supplements are nothing new, in fact they have been around since the 80s. At the time they were first introduced they did a pretty good. However since then technologies and our understanding of the human body have advanced significantly, and whilst many industries have adapted with the times the rehydration market remained stagnant.
Revival was created to provide an advancement and a science based improvement to the current offering within the market.
The problem
When supplements are administered in tablet form it has a significant impact on the bodies ability to absorb the active ingredients and also the time taken to break down the tablet
In fact a study conducted by Medicare Europe found that a tablet can take anyway between 20 - 30 mins to be broken down and that only 30% of the ingredients are absorbed.
The same study found that a water soluble version (liquid) can be assimilated into the body between 1 - 4 minutes with an absorption rates of up to 98%.
With this information in hand we began to develop the future for the hydration industry. Revival products are engineered to deliver on our promise of rapid rehydration and are designed to let you live your best life. Our science based approach has allowed us to produce a formulation with 3 x the electrolyte content of traditional supplements, 68% higher absorption and 14 x faster assimilation. In addition we have packed Revival with 5 essential vitamins, including vitamin C, B1, B3, B5 & B12.
We received feedback daily from customers who have made the switch from electrolyte tablets who hale Revival as being a "revelation".
We are so confident in our products that we offer a full money back guarantee if you are in any way unsatisfied. No questions asked!
Proudly the UK's most loved electrolyte powders.
What about traditional sports drinks?
Again isotonic sports drinks have been around for many years with little to no change in the formulation over that time. The electrolyte content in such drinks are typically low (Revival has 3 x the amount!) plus a lot of these drinks contain a lot of sugar which in turn makes them unhealthy, especially if consumed in high quantities.
What about an IV drip?
An IV drip is an excellent way to rehydrate as it skips the absorption and delivers fluids directly into the blood steam. In very extreme cases of chronic dehydration or illness it is administered by hospitals. However, if you are planning on using this method for general use there are a few things you should be aware one
1. Cost - Privately the cost of an IV can be up to £250 per session
2. Pain - This method of course involves a needle being placed into your vein through which fluids are delivered
3. Safety - Due to the nature of this treatment it must be administered by a qualified individual, typically a nurse
4. Time - Each session is likely to take around 1 hour
So, yes it is possible and yes it is very effective however it is an expensive, time consuming and often painful experience, which in our opinion should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
Who needs to rehydrate
Did you know: 75% of the western world is dehydrated without even knowing it!
Well based on the above 3 out of every 4 of us needs help with hydration. the government recommends that we drink 8 glasses of water a day. However a lot of us struggle to do this, plus add on to this the fact that many of us consume coffee, fizzy drinks and other diuretics (drinks that contribute to dehydration) you can start to see why there appears to be such a hydration crisis. Further to this water can be lost though illness and also through sweating which is typically associated with physical exercise.
If you feel any of the following symptoms it may be a sign that you are dehydrated and could benefit from taking a hydration supplement
- Lacking energy
- Unable to focus
- Regular headaches
- Extended recovery time
- Dry mouth
We service a wide range of customer from travel enthusiasts, city workers, athletes to those with an active lifestyle.
Our passion is to enable our customers to live their best lives!
What are Electrolytes?
They are minerals that carry and electrical charge and are used by our bodies to facilitate a number of functions. They help to maintain the PH within our blood, enable muscle contractions, assist with the production of new tissue, transmit signals and maintain fluid levels. Given the wide range of areas in which they are used it is importance to maintain a good balance. Consequently an imbalance can lead to a number of symptoms such as low energy, head aches, prolonged recovery times and muscle cramps to name just a few.
What are the natural ways to stay hydrated?
There are a number of foods and drinks that can help with hydration, unsurprisingly it is typically those which have a naturally high electrolyte levels.
Foods: Spinach, kale, beans, tomatoes, bananas, oranges, strawberries, avocados, raisins, yoghurt, olives, almonds, chicken, turkey, fish
Drinks: Coconut water, milk, fruit juices
Did you know: 60% of the human body is made up of water!
The green choice
The drinks industry has always been a very heavy consumer of plastics and emitter of carbon. Since our inception one of our mission statements is to "Be The Change" and to set a new benchmark within this market.
We have recently redesigned our boxes, to be self locking cardboard which are 100% glue free. Our sticks contain 99% less plastic when compared to the equivalent bottles or tubes and the transportation and storage consumes 99% less carbon.
We are working towards being 100% free from plastic in the coming months
